OH Gosh! Is it not amazing outside?
I love the late summer we get here in San Francisco.

And check it out…I’m getting into gardening.
Coming from the hard core New Yorker this is quite a transformation.
Here is a picture of me weeding the garden.
I guess Santa Cruz is rubbing off on me.

And speaking of transformation it brings me such joy to watch our client’s health and lives change.

About 5 years ago I met a woman named Flan in a Sugar Blues Class I was teaching at The Yoga Tree.

At the time she was a school teacher, struggling with body image and major sugar addiction.

Who knew that 5 years later she would become our next Fruition Women’s Health Counselor. She has completely transformed her health, her career path and her life.

It bring me great pleasure to
introduce and welcome Flan Kramer
to the Fruition Women’s Health Counselor Team.

Read her story below.

In health,

PS: Also below check out the extended recipe contest deadline and some fun events happening THIS WEEKEND in SF.

I hope to see you at one of the workshops
  introducing Flan

Flan’s Story

Food has played an important role in my life for as long as I can remember. As a young child I would spend hours in the kitchen, creating recipes for my family to taste. As a preteen, I began to use overeating as a way to try and fill myself up emotionally. One incident that I will never forget was when I was about 13 years old. I snuck into the freezer and ate an entire birthday cake, still frozen, after school over a couple of days.

From that point on, I went through the dieting/overeating roller coaster time and time again. I would lose weight by forcing myself to starvation, or gain weight by overeating day after day. On either side I felt like I was in a food prison, and I was ready to get out.

Then I met Darshana in 2003. I was starving myself. I had not gotten my period for over a year. I was incredibly anxious, depressed, and disconnected from myself and other people.

Through working with Darshana, my health quickly improved. I learned how to eat for nourishment and how to love and accept myself. Within a couple of months I quit my full time job as a special education teacher, and began to pursue my dreams.

I started cooking for a living, assisting with Darshana, and teaching cooking classes to kids. I completed a Yoga teacher training program and started a catering business. And then I fulfilled a 15 year old dream to travel around the world, where I spent my time studying spirituality.

Upon my return from traveling , I knew that it was time to get serious about my true passions: food, health, and connecting with people. I moved to New York City to attend The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, as well as culinary school at The Natural Gourmet Institute.

Today I am living a life I truly love. I am doing health counseling, catering, and teaching cooking classes. I feel so privileged for the opportunity to support women through the transition to a healthier and deeply satisfying life.

I am so grateful that there is a place like Fruition Women’s Health . I am excited to be part of the FWH Counseling Team. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you to reach your health goals and live your dreams.

FAM WORKSHOP: Fertility Awareness Method workshop

We are blessed to have Sarah Bly coming to teach this workshop. She is a master of this information. Her heart is so big and her loving presence makes you feel comfortable with all your questions and hormonal issues.

I BELIEVE EVERY WOMEN SHOULD KNOW THIS INFORMATION. This class is not only for those of you would want to know about fertility (or a natural method of birth control) .

I teach the mini version of this information in the women and wellness workshop. Therefore I know that this information can support us with body image, sugar and food cravings, mood swings, acne and much more.

I took the workshop about 6 months ago and I loved it so much I just HAD to sponsor it at FWH.

You will learn things about your hormones you didn’t even know. I don’t even think your doctors know this information.

It’s empowering to know it.

(Can you tell I loved this workshop!)

She has taught the Fertility Awareness Method as well as Sacred Sexuality classes to many women (and men) over the last 5 years and has practiced the FAM for 13 years. She feels it is time to break down the myths surrounding this element of women’s wisdom, which is an extremely empowering and effective form of contraception.
